The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) recently organized a quiz on a popular social media platform to engage with its followers. The quiz, designed to entertain participants, also offered a certificate of appreciation as an incentive for joining in.

Some of the EPFO subscribers, instead of participating in the quiz, used the opportunity to inquire about the anticipated crediting of interest for the fiscal year 2023-24. In response to these queries, EPFO stated that the process is currently in progress and should be finalized soon. Furthermore, they assured subscribers that when the interest is credited, it will be accumulated and paid in full, ensuring no loss of interest.

Many subscribers referred to this response as a 'standard' one that they receive every year, indicating a common concern among EPFO members about the timing of interest crediting.

Besides interest-related queries, subscribers also raised issues regarding the functionality of the EPFO passbook portal. Some subscribers expressed dissatisfaction as their EPFO passbook was not working.

For those wondering about checking the status of their account balance and interest crediting, EPFO provides several methods:
1. Using Umang App: Download the Umang app, enter your details, and access the passbook on your mobile phone.

2. Visiting EPF Website
  • Go to the EPF India website and navigate to the 'For Employees' section.

  • Under the 'Services' section, click on 'Member Passbook.' As you click this, you will be taken to a new webpage.
  • Enter your UAN (Universal Account Number), password, and captcha to sign in.
  • The passbook will be available approximately 6 hours after registration on the unified member portal.

3. SMS Service: Send the message "EPFOHO UAN" to 7738299899 to receive passbook details via SMS.

4. Missed Call Service: Access passbook details by giving a missed call from your registered mobile number to 9966044425.

These methods provide EPFO subscribers with convenient ways to stay updated on their account balances, interest crediting, and other important information related to their provident fund accounts.
